Footnotes Dance Studio was founded in 1997 by Lindsey Curry. Lindsey began dancing and performing at the age of three. After persistent urging by parents whose children she coached voluntarily in dance and cheer, Lindsey opened Footnotes while attending Stanislaus State University for her degree in Communications and Art History. Knowing that performing arts (dance) was her first love, Lindsey pursued Footnotes full-time and retired from her career as an art gallery director. Presently today, and many students later, Footnotes Dance Studio is breaking the standard mold of dance while infusing the area's top instructors to enrich the lives of aspiring dancers in the Stanislaus community.
At Footnotes Dance Studio, we strive to create a family atmosphere for our students. It is important for the student to become comfortable in order to develop the mind and body to act as one, to develop grace, poise and confidence.
Footnotes can design a program tailored to your child's need; whether it is a class once a week for fun and exercise, or a special program for the more serious dancer. We have an annual recital in the summer to give all of our students a fun-filled performance opportunity. We also have local performances for the community such as the Christmas Tree Lane ceremony and the Ceres Street Faire. Footnotes Dance Studio is a Regional, National and also, a World Ranked dance studio.
Presenting our competitive dance company, Fusion. Footnotes Fusion, are National Champions through USA, GSSA, JAMZ & America's Best. With undefeated youth teams, our Senior Hip-Hop team currently ranked 3rd at Dance Worlds in Orlando Florida on April 30, 2011.
Whether you take one dance class or compete with Fusion, Footnotes feels that each and EVERY dancer is vital to the studio.
Our mission is that our students leave feeling good about themselves and have gained personal confidence that will benefit throughout their entire life, in any career they choose.
