Recital Program Ad

Order Deadline: April 26th

Footnotes will professionally format your message and photo for a polished keepsake design in our recital program.

Footnotes Picture Day

Picture Day is a professional in-studio photography experience designed to capture your dancer with

confidence, personality, and stage presence—images you’ll treasure long after the season ends.

Booking Your Session

  • Sessions must be booked in advance

  • Photos are optional—only registered dancers will be photographed

  • Each session includes 2 professionally captured images to choose from

  • Additional images and products will be available for purchase

Sessions require a $38 sitting fee, which is applied toward your image purchase.

Costumes & Sessions

  • Each session is designed for one costume/look only

  •  Each costume requires its own scheduled session

  • You may book up to 3 sessions per dancer

  • Each session requires a $38 sitting fee (applied as a credit toward your purchase)

  • If multiple sessions are booked, each session receives its own $38 credit

Example:
3 bookings = $114 total → You receive 3 separate $38 credits toward your dancer’s gallery

Scheduling Multiple Costumes

To allow time for quick changes:

  • Leave at least 15 minutes between sessions

  • Do not book back-to-back time slots

Example:
If your first session is at 10:00 AM, book your next at 10:15 AM or later

Sibling & Buddy Photos

  • Sibling or buddy photos are welcome

  • Each group photo requires a separate scheduled session

  • Dancers must be ready and present together at their scheduled time

👉 Additional sessions cannot be added on the day of the shoot without a booking

Appointment Policy

  • Sitting fees are non-refundable

  • Sitting fees are applied as a credit only when the scheduled session is completed

  • Missed sessions do not receive a credit

  • Rescheduling is based on availability and not guaranteed

  • Missed appointments or same-day cancellations will forfeit the session, deposit, and any associated credit.

👉 Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for your dancer.

These sessions are limited—please be considerate of other families.

Drop-Off & Lobby Guidelines

Picture Day is a drop-off experience.

✅ One Parent May Enter the Lobby ONLY If:

  • Your dancer is 7 years old or younger, OR

  • Your dancer is 11 or under and requires help with a costume change

If this applies:

  • One parent may accompany them inside

  • Please line up along the lobby wall and wait to be called to check-in

  • Studio C is for quick changes only (no lingering or hair prep)

🚫 No Parents in Photo Rooms

Parent presence inside photo rooms causes delays, and sessions move quickly.

Our trained staff will guide, pose, and support every dancer.

Nervous Dancer?

If your dancer needs a moment, we’ll handle it with patience and encouragement (and yes… sometimes a lollipop).
If we truly need you, we’ll come get you.

Arrive Picture-Ready

✔️ Costume & Appearance

  • Do not wash costumes—steam wrinkles only

  • Tights must be new and in sealed packaging

  • Dance shoes should be clean (wipe with damp cloth)

  • Ballet shoes: tuck laces neatly inside

Session Flow

  • Sessions are fast and guided to maintain a smooth schedule

  • Dancers should arrive fully dressed and picture-ready

  • Please arrive on time

👉 Late arrivals may not be accommodated and may forfeit their session

👉 Due to the high volume of dancers, all sessions must be booked in advance

After Your Session

Your private gallery link will be sent to the email(s) on file in your Parent Portal.

Our goal is to have all images edited and delivered prior to recital.

Editing includes:

  • Color and exposure correction

  • Light skin retouching

  • Minor glasses adjustments

Please note: Wardrobe and appearance details (including shoes, tights, and costumes) will be photographed as presented. We do not retouch stains, scuffs, tears, or missing items.

Backstage Volunteer Opportunities

We are seeking female adult volunteers to assist backstage during Recital Weekend.

Volunteers play an important role in helping our dancers feel prepared, confident, and supported throughout the show.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be available for Dress Rehearsal and one Recital performance (based on your selected show)

  • Will be assigned a dressing room and group of dancers to supervise and assist

  • Your dancer will be placed in your assigned group whenever possible

  • Must be willing to support all dancers in your group, not just your own

Additional Details:

  • A completed Volunteer Sign-Up Form is required to be considered

  • Volunteer spots are limited and assigned based on need

  • Submitting a request does not guarantee placement

We are so grateful for parents who want to be part of this experience—your support helps make recital weekend run smoothly for everyone.

Show A & B
Explained:

Why Do We Have 2 Different Shows?

To keep each recital performance at a comfortable length, dancers are divided between Show A and Show B.

This allows us to keep each recital around two hours in length while giving every dancer their moment on stage.

Some classes perform in both A & B shows which is noted on their class ID.

How Do I Know Which Show My Dancer Is In?

You can confirm your dancer’s assigned show in 3 ways:

1. Your Parent Portal

Log in to view your child's current enrollment. Their classes are labeled with Show A, Show B, or Show A/B

Example: "Ballet/Jazz 4-6 yrs | F 4:30 - Melissa / Show B"

2. Confirmation Email

Families receive an email listing the class song title and show assignment 2 weeks prior to ticket sales.

3. You may also contact the studio to confirm which show.

Helpful Heads-Up Before You Purchase Recital Tickets

Gallo Theater Ticket Policies & Fees

All recital tickets are sold directly through the Gallo Center for the Arts Box Office. Ticketing policies and service fees are set by the Gallo Center and are separate from Footnotes Dance Studio.

Ticket Requirement

The Gallo Center requires every person entering the theater to have a ticket, regardless of age. Due to city fire code regulations, children may not sit on a parent’s lap. If a child becomes restless during the performance, an usher may ask the accompanying adult to step out temporarily. The Gallo Center provides television monitors in the lobby so guests can continue watching the performance until they are able to return to their seats.

Gallo Ticket Fees

The Gallo Center applies the following fees to all ticket purchases:

Facility Fee
$3 per ticket (applies to all purchases: online, phone, or in person)

Handling Fee
$6 per ticket when purchasing online or by phone
No handling fee when purchasing in person at the box office

This means tickets purchased online will typically include approximately $9 in Gallo ticketing fees per ticket.

Ticket Purchasing Tip

Arriving early at the box office does not guarantee the best seats. Many families purchase tickets online at the same time. While buying in person saves $3 per ticket in fees, seating availability is the same for all purchase methods.

Ticket Sales – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does my dancer need a ticket?
A: No, dancers do not need a ticket for the recital.  Dancers will be backstage for the duration of the recital with the exception of the Mini Müvers + Müvement classes that are pre-authorized to leave after they perform.

Q: Who does need a ticket?
A: Anyone planning to watch the recital must have a ticket.

This includes infants and toddlers. The Gallo Center requires every person entering the theater to have a ticket, regardless of age. If a child does not have a ticket, the box office will require one to be purchased before entering the auditorium. Our shows sell out so plan ahead.

Q: How much do tickets cost?
A: Tickets range from $31–$44 depending on seating location.

The Gallo Center also charges a handling fee per ticket:

• $6 per ticket when purchased online or by phone
• $3 per ticket when purchased in person at the box office

Q: How many tickets can I purchase?
A: During the Footnotes family pre-sale period, each family may purchase up to 16 tickets total, with a maximum of 8 tickets per show.

Q: Which Show Is My Dancer In?
A: Parents will receive an event confirmation email listing their dancer and the recital show(s) they are assigned to.

You can also log into your Parent Portal and view your dancer’s enrolled classes. Each class will be labeled Show A, Show B, or Show A/B in the class heading.

If your dancer is enrolled in multiple classes, they may be scheduled to perform in more than one show.
